The River Fal links Falmouth and the Cathedral city of Truro. It reaches 9 miles inland from the sea. It is a beautiful place, remaining unspoilt and wild even after centuries of industry in the surrounding area.
Many of the river sights can only be seen from the water as there are very few paths through its shores of ancient densely wooded banks. The private estate of Tregothnan on the eastern shore and the National Trust estate of Trelissick on the western shore may be familiar, but along the length of the river there are also many discreet tell-tale signs of its history and heritage. From a pre-historic settlement and an ancient pilgrims way, to a unique oyster fishery and strategic d-day locations. On our sailing trips, we take the time to slowly discover the nature of the river and share our knowledge of its past and present.
Our tours are not only about the river though, but also about experiencing sailing on a beautiful traditional sailing boat with an interesting history of its own. Relax, the crew take care of all the sailing.
The owners and crew, Neil & Debbie, have years of sailing and hospitality experience. Their passion for the river and the surrounding area including Truro and Falmouth is obvious to all those who meet and sail with them.
We offer our sailing trips April thru September and our vouchers do not expire. They are beautifully presented on card in full colour. We are also happy to include personal messages to make them even more special.
